Dr Usha Heranjal

Dr. Usha Heranjal passed M.B.B.S. From Mysore University with distinction throughout and merely on scholarship. Then passed D.O.M.S. from Kasturba Medical College (Mangalore University) again getting the top rank. she shifted to Killa Pardi in 1986 and started her own private eye clinic namely, Anu Eye Hospital Started as Asst. Ophthalmic Surgeon in Rotary Eye Institute, Navsari for 6 months From 1989 till 1996, was an assistant to Padmashree Dr. Daljit Singh, an eminent Ophthalmologist with a world record in number of cataract surgeries with I.O.Ls. Honorary Ophthalmologist at Mohanlal Dayal Trust Hospital, Killa Pardi from In 1995, went to Calgary, Canada and took a special training in Phaco-emulsification and radial keratotomy ,& LASIK at the hands of Dr. Howard Gimbel a Pioneer in these techniques, for a month. She has also done Fellowship in Phaco at LVPEI,Hyderabad in 1996 She is one of the pioneers in phaco technique in South Gujarat. She is also attached to Daman Government Hospital as a Senior Ophthalmologist since 1998. Here in Daman she started the department from zero. Now seeing on an average 60 patients daily & 350 cataract operations annually . Worked on short term basis as consultant at Ministry of Health Hospital at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2000 Honarary Ophthalmologist at Chunilal Sheth Surgical Hospital, Valsad ,since 1988 She runs three private clinic successfully in Killa Pardi, Vapi and Daman Dr. Usha till date has done about: • 60,000+ CATARACTS with IOL implants, • 7000+ GLAUCOMA surgeries • 5000+ PHACO surgeries • 5000+ YAG LASER cases • More than 700 eye camps attended • 50,000+ school children screened for refractive errors • 134 cataract +IOL operated in a single day single handed, successfully • Youngest child operated for cataract - 45 DAYS old • Oldest patient operated for cataract – 105 yrs old
