Dr. Shankar completed his masters degree in Radiation Oncology in 2000 from a renowned medical college in Hyderabad. Following which he did his Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at a well known hospital in Mumbai. With over 18 years post MD experience, Dr.Shankar's area of specialization includes high precision radiation therapy, Total skin electron beam therapy for Mycosis Fungoides, Intracranial radiosurgery for benign intracranial tumours (Pituitary adenomas, Meningiomas, Acoustic schwannoma, Non-Acoustic Schwannoma etc.,). In terms of extracranial radiosurgery(SRBT) he specializes in Lung, Liver, Pancreas, Spine & Prostate Cancer. Dr. Shankar is credited for achieving a world record of completing the fastest surgery for trigeminal neuralgia in under 23 Minutes. Apart from that he is a recipient of various national & international fellowships and has been awarded as the best oncologist by a media house in 2015. He also has over 54 publications in international peer reviewed journals and book chapters.
