Dr Maneesh Rai the second Cardiac Electrophysiologist in Karnataka is very proud of his profession and the work he is doing at KMC hospital treating and caring for patients with heart diseases. Currently associated with KMC (Mangalore) Dr.Rai says that "If you have an irregular heartbeat, you may need to see more than just your cardiologist. Another doctor, an electrophysiologist, can diagnose and help treat arrhythmia. Your heart has two basic functions. One is to pump blood throughout your body, and the other is to remember to pump blood throughout your body". His treatments include focusing on heartbeat timing, or electrical, system and on diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. Dr.Rai's specialization lies in performing special tests of your hearts electrical system, such as an electrophysiology study or an ablation. His area of expertise lies in implementation of a pacemaker or defibrillator which is similar to a pacemaker but can shock your heart back into rhythm when required.
