Dr. V.K.Sharma is an MBBS and M.S from Nagpur University and MCh (Cardiac Surgery) from GB Pant Hospital (Delhi University).He did Fellowship from Uppsala University, Sweden and G.D. Annunzio University Chieti Italy. He has over 30 years of rich experience in his field. He has worked in Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi for 9 years. He has done more than 15000 Cardiac Surgeries which include Off Pump CABG and after 1997 mainly Off Pump CABG, Did Valve Replacements, Aortic Aneurysm Surgeries, Ventriculoplasties and Ischemic MV repair, ASD, VSD, and TOF. He Started three Cardiac Centres in Punjab (BBC Heart Care, Jalandhar, Tagore Hospital, Jalandhar and Mukat Hospital, Chandigarh). Did 1st CABG in Punjab, Did first beating heart CABG and mini sternotomy valve replacement in Punjab. Did first Endoscopic Internal Artery Dissection in India. First to do Bentall Operation in Punjab in 1997.
