Dr. Sumita Arora is the only female surgeon in Lucknow who has performed the maximum number of laparoscopic surgery around 10000, even for big tumours, fibroids, uterus, cysts. She was the first female surgeon to bring laparoscopic surgery in the city if Lucknow making it so very popular today. Dr. Sumita Arora is a consultant at Aastha Maternity and Laparoscopy Centre, Aashiana, Lucknow which is a super specialty hospital dealing with all types of minimally invasive surgeries (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endoscopy) in gynecology, urology, and surgery. She was working as Head of the department of obstetrician and gynecology and consultant at a private 300 bedded hospital in Lucknow. Thesis guide of primary and secondary DNB students. Performing all type of surgeries including laparoscopic surgeries like laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic treatment of ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopic salpingectomy, endometriosis, fertility enhancing laparoscopic surgeries along with hysteroscopic surgeries like hysteroscopic removal of the endometrial polyp, synechia, septum, fibroid etc. Actively involved in the uplift of mother and child and spreading awareness about contraception, family welfare, education in various ethnic groups. Actively involved in counseling of infertile couples and promoting adoption in childless couples. Organising health check up and Immunisation camps in very poor basti's every month. Was organizing polio awareness and eradication campaign in Lucknow. Given talks to the press about various medical topics of public importance.
