Dr.Vijay K Rai is a young, dynamic Gastroenterologist, currently attached to the Institute Of Gastro Sciences at the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata. In addition, he can also be met at his private clinic located at Americana Gastro & Diagnostic Centre in Kankurgachhi Area of Kolkata. Dr.Rai is familiar with all types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, viz. Endoscopic retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Spy Glass, confocal laser endomicroscopy, etc. He has considerable exposure to Gastroduodendoscopy and colonoscopy-related procedures, including argon plasma coagulation (APC), Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA), peg tube placements and others. Further, he is well-versed in a double balloon and single balloon Enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy, as well as high-resolution manometry and motility study, oesophageal stricture dilatation, achalasia management, liver biopsy and fibro scans. Dr.Vijay K Rai won several awards during his academic days and was also the recipient of a paid fellowship in endoscopic ultrasound training at Asan Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea. This was part of the young endoscopist award bestowed on him by the Korean Gastroenterology Society. He has been involved in clinical research and has several publications to his name in peer-reviewed journals and medical updates. He has presented posters and delivered lectures at meets connected to his area of expertise. He is a member of several medical associations and serves as a governing council member of the society of gastrointestinal endoscopy of India. Dr.Rai is a sincere medical professional and endeavours to deliver the best possible result in whatever he undertakes in his practice. He keeps abreast of all the latest knowledge and skills in his areas of specialisation and believes in offering quality service with honesty and compassion. He has the capability to work either individually or in a team to accomplish any assigned objective.
