Dr Uma Devi Malladi

First lady Gastroenterologist from Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Uma Devi Malladi is a well known Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist specialising in ailments related to human digestive system. She is MBBS, MD (General Medicine) and DM (Gastroenterology). She has undergone extensive hands on training in Endoscopic Ultrasound in Izuka, Japan. Due to her immense expertise and experience in the field of Gastroenterology, she was elected for Plenary in ISG Conference 2014. Dr. Uma Devi Malladi is the external examiner for DM (Gastroenterology) since 2013 and teacher MCI Faculty since 1997. During her experience from last 20 years, she has worked at leading oncology institutes (cancer) as head-dept of gi oncology and treated many patients of obstructive jaundice, cancers of esophagus, hepato-pancreatic-billary cancers. She is trained for advanced therapeutic endoscopic interventions like ERCP, CBD-stenting, esophageal stenting, pancreatic stenting. She also has special interest in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). At Mumbai she has gained experience in treating patients of functional bowel disease, motility disorders like achalasia cardia. She has gained experience in esophageal and rectal manometry, ph metry studies. Previously, she served as Treasurer of ISG, AP Chapter.
