Dr Surekha Shankar Upendram

Dr. Surekha joined Fernandez Hospital as a Consultant in 2013. Prior to this, she was an Associate Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Riyadh. She started her career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1993 in Warangal and later spent many years working in Saudi Arabia. During her last stint, from May 2003 to November 2012 at KAMC, Riyadh, she was in charge of Labour and Delivery Suite dealing with obstetric emergencies including performing laparoscopies. She also ran her own clinic, besides managing a team of doctors. Dr. Surekha has several papers and poster presentations to her credit. She has been part of several workshops and faculty at conferences. She has been involved in many research activities and was actively involved in teaching medical students and midwives.
