He has the distinction of becoming one of the ever surgeon in the world to perform an Awake Cardiac Surgery (A unique type of Heart Surgery during which the patient remains completely conscious and the heartbeat will be stopped for hours without using ventilator) on a patient with a rare ‘Bombay Blood Group’ (The Bombay blood group has been identified in only about 179 people in the world).
