Dr. Sanjana Saraf (Ph.D., M.Phil.) is a certified Clinical psychologist & Psychotherapist (RCI, IACP) in Gurgaon. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from University of Delhi and was awarded the ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) fellowship for the same. She completed and secured the first position in her residency program (M.Phil) in Clinical Psychology from IHBAS (Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences). IHBAS is one of the few, oldest and most reputed mental health & neurology government hospitals of India. Prior to this, she completed her Masters & Bachelors in Psychology with top honors from the University of Delhi. She is a published author with various academic journals and has also been cited for her expert opinion in popular newspapers and magazines like Times of India, Hindustan Times, Deccan Herald, Dainik Jagran, etc. Dr. Sanjana Saraf has previously been a consultant with Park Hospital and then Max Hospital (Max Multispeciality Hospital-Saket, Panchsheel Medcentre and Max hospital- Gurgaon) for 6 years. Alongside she continues to successfully run her private practice. With growing demand, Dr. Sanjana started successfully conducting online psychotherapy sessions with patients from Delhi NCR, tier two cities and Indians living abroad. Dr. Sanjana Saraf specializes in treating psychological disorders like depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), eating disorders, PTSD, psychosomatic disorders, postpartum depression, borderline personality disorder etc via psychotherapy in adolescents & adults. She takes special interest in treating mental health problems in women like postpartum depression, trauma-related issues, psychological disorders arising out of cultural/ societal stressors women face on a day to day basis. She has been trained extensively in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic & Existential psychotherapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema therapy and parts of psychodynamic psychotherapy. She believed each patient’s problem requires an individualized approach, as each presents with a unique historical background, sense of self and social experiences. Her approach is client-centered, aiming to establish a strong empathetic & collaborative connect with her clients to work through their struggles. This helps her clients to eventually become more self-reliant and less dependent on psychotherapy.
