Dr Deepak Govil

Dr. Deepal Govil he has been born and brought up in Delhi. Basic schooling was also done from Delhi. After completing school in 1977, he joined graduation in Medicine(MBBS) at the prestigious All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He continued to work at the same place and did his post graduation in Surgery (MS) in 1986. After doing his post graduation from a unit doing mainly Gastro-Surgical work he joined the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital as a Surgical Specialist. He then came back to AIIMS to do Post Doctoral Course (Ph.D.) in GI Surgery from 1992 to 1995. After that, he joined the University College Of Medical Sciences, Shahdara, New Delhi as Assistant Professor in 1996. Next year (1997) he joined as a Senior Consultant GI Surgery at the Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute For Liver, Renal, and Digestive diseases. He established the department of GI Surgery at this place and performed all kinds of Major Gastro-Surgical procedures for the next he shifted to the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi as a Senior Consultant Surgical Gastroenterology. Here he has been performing all major Gastro-Surgical procedures. Main interest areas have been: Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, Surgery For Ulcerative Colitis Colorectal Surgery. He is a life member of the following organizations like ASI, IASG, ISG, IAGES, IMA, ACRSI. He has been the national executive member of the Indian Association Of Surgical Gastroenterology. He also has been the convenor of Delhi GI Surgeons club for 8 years from 1998 to 2007.
