Fetal Heart Rate: What Is It and Why Do Doctors Check It?

A baby’s heartbeat, known as the fetal heart rate, a baby’s heartbeat is typically between 110 and 160 beats per minute during late pregnancy and labor. The fetal heart rate should be between 120 and 160 during the second trimester and may reach up to 180 beats in the third trimester.
