With over 12,000 heart surgeries under his belt and over 36 years of cardiothoracic experience, Dr Sampath is one of the leading heart surgeons of the country and is recognized as the most experienced surgeon in heart valve surgery and has conducted numerous successful surgeries at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He also has numerous paper presentations,authored three textbooks including one on patients' rights. He also has nearly 200 scientific papers already published in prestigious journals, over 30 surgical videos on his surgeries are recorded. He holds memberships of various national and international professional associations including the honorable American Association of Thoracic Surgery (AATS). He has been actively involved in teaching his surgical techniques in many heart centers in India, as well as in other countries.
