Senior Vitreo Retina Surgeon & Uvea Consultant He has published in various national and international peer-reviewed literature on a variety of topics and has contributions in books published on vitreoretinal surgery. He is actively involved in training of postgraduates, surgical & medical retina fellows for over 15 years. He has delivered several presentations at national and international forums and is an active participant in specialty meetings and online discussion blogs. His areas of interest include Surgeries like complicated rhegmatogenous and diabetic tractional retinal detachments, complicated ocular trauma (Retained Intraocular foreign bodies), Macular holes, Optic disc pit maculopathy and Ocular Oncology. He has published in major international and national ophthalmology journals on a wide variety of topics. He is one of the major sought after faculty for various national conferences and is a key opinion leader in the field of Vitreo-Retina & Uvea. He was instrumental in developing curriculum for training of long-term Vitreo-Retina Fellows. He contributed significantly to the initial phase of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) development at Aravind Eye Hospital. He played an active & major role in the program development for the Tele-Ophthalmology under TIFAC-CORE (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council- Center of Relevance & Excellence) Project for Diabetic Retinopathy. He has been associated with the PHFI (Public Health Foundation of India) in the designing & development of the modules for the CCDR course. Membership of the academic Societies - AIOS, VRSI, DOS.
