Dr Sunil Bhat

Dr. Sunil Bhat is Head of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant and Clinical Immunology at Mazumdar Shaw Medical Center, Narayana Health City, Bangalore. His primary interest lies in Blood and Marrow Transplantation in children. He underwent training in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and BMT from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at Delhi. He underwent further training in Pediatric Oncology from Children Hospital at Sydney, Australia. He further specialized in Bone Marrow Transplantation from Sydney. He has throughout his academic career been a Gold Medalist and was the recipient of Nanak Chand Gold medal from the President of India. Dr. Sunil Bhat has been involved in more than 500 Bone marrow transplants till now, with vast experience in Matched Sibling, Unrelated, Cord Blood and Haploidentical transplants in children. He has over 50 publications and many book chapters to his credit. He has been a pioneer in writing brain tumor management guidelines for Indian children. He is Chair of The Stem Cell Transplant Group of InPOG and Executive Board Member from South for the PHO Chapter of IAP. He is editor of International Journal of Medical Paediatrics and Oncology.
