Dr Sherine Briganza

She completed her basic medical education & postgraduation from St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore. She did a fellowship in retina & Vitreous at The Eye Research and Retina foundation in Ahmedabad in 2001. She was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal by the Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences in MS Ophthalmology. She has also cleared the International Council of Ophthalmology examination Edinburough 1998 with distinction. She previously worked in St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore and is presently in Narayana Nethralaya for the past eight years as a senior consultant. Her main areas of interest include research in ARMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, oculartrauma, retinopathy of prematurity, genetics of systemic disorders related to the eye and proteonomics in vascular occlusions. She is also well versed with all the latest imaging modalities in retina including autoflourescence,fundusangiography, ICG , advanced retinal imaging and scans. She is proficient both in medical retina including ROP lasers and surgical retina. She is also well experienced in microincision {MIVS} state of the art retinal surgeries which constitute all types of complicated retinal detachment surgery. She has trained many postgraduates and fellows and been thesies guide for past and present postgraduates. She has been faculty and presented in various national and international conferences. She also has several national and international publications to her credit. She is also a part of the KIDROP team of Narayana Nethralaya. She is now a consultant in Vitreoretina at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Narayana Health City, Bangalore.
