Poornachandra B is Retina Consultant .Completed MS ophthalmology from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) followed by RGUHS fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Surgery from Narayana Nethralaya and went on to join as Vitreo Retina consultant in the same institute. Presented several papers, posters, videos at various conferences and also part of instruction courses. Has won award for paper presentation on ‘Importance Of Periodic Examination And Timely Intervention In Preventing Visual Morbidity Among Patients Of Lasered Diabetic Macular Edema’ at Third annual conference of ACOIN & International Assembly of Community Ophthalmologists Nov 2012. Multiple publications to the credit. Actively involved in teaching undergraduates, post graduates and fellows. Worked as Internal Co coordinator for DNB and MS practical examinations. Very passionate for the field of Retina. Believe in compassion and holistic approach to patient. Areas of interest include diabetic retinopathy, Retinal dystrophies, retinal genetics and surgical retina.
