Dr Nitin J Peters

Dr Nitin J Peters is a consultant Pediatric Surgeon at Rainbow Children's Hospital in Bangalore. He trained at the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana Punjab (CMC) for both graduate (MBBS) and post graduate studies (MS). Following training in surgery, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at CMC, Ludhiana. He further specialized in MCh in Pediatric Surgery at the renowned Post graduate institute of medical education and research, (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He has a special interest in Pediatric Onco-Surgery, Pediatric Urology and Neonatal Surgery apart from General Pediatric Surgery. Prior to his association with the Rainbow Group, Dr Nitin Peters worked as a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at the Max Superspeciality Hospital, Dehradun, Uttrakhand. His areas of expertise include antenatal diagnosed hydronephrosis, PUJO, VUR, PUV & neonatal emergency surgeries like trachea-esophageal fistula, congenital diaphragmatic hernia and intestinal atresia amongst others. His other surgical works include bronchoscopy for airway foreign body retrieval, and surgical management of disorders like biliary atresia, choledochal cysts, Hirschsprung`s disease and pediatric solid organ tumors like Wilms’ tumor and Neuroblastoma amongst others. Dr Nitin has worked at various Mission hospitals in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and U.P, delivering expert and advanced surgical care to children in peripheral keeping up with his passion to extend surgical care, he has spearheaded disaster management teams to Leh, Ladhak (J&K) during flash floods (2010) and the recent devastating earthquake at Nepal (2015). He is also a member of the MSF (Doctors without borders) and Surgeons Over Seas (SOS).
