She completed her basic medical education from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar. She pursued her post graduation degree M.S Ophthalmology from J J M medical college, Davangere. She has done Cornea & External eye disease fellowship from Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore. She is currently working in the department of cornea services at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Narayana Health City, Bangalore and also coordinating the reputed limbal stem cell research projects. Her special areas of interest are Customized corneal transplantation surgeries, Ocular surface reconstruction and Post keratoplasty Cataract surgeries. She has received an award in the “Postgraduate Grand Rounds” competition at Eye-PEP 2012 held at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.
