Dr Kalai Hema K M has completed her MBBS from Melmaruvathur AdhiParasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research ( MAPIMS) , Tamil Nadu . She has received the The Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G.R. Medical University Gold medal in 2014. She completed her DGO from the premier medical institute of the state - Madras Medical College ( MMC) . Following which she joined Narayana Hrudayalaya Multispeciality Hospital, Bangalore , to pursue her DNB degree. She then joined Aster CMI Hospital,Bangalore, as SR . She has worked with experts in the field of High- risk Obstetrics, minimally invasive gynaecologic surgeries ( Laparoscopic Procedures) , Robotic Surgeries, Gynae Oncology, Urogynaecology and infertility. Dr Kalai Hema K M encourages vaginal delivery . She promotes Gentle Birth Method . She is interested more on dealing with high - risk obstetric patients, who is known to have complicated medical and surgical conditions in pregnancy. She gives premarital/ pre conceptional counselling , contraception advice. She is known to manage gynaecological health issues of women such as menstrual disturbances and and the associated endocrinological issues like PCOD, adolescent health,infertility, sexual health, menopause , gynaecological cancers. She is known to treat common gynaecological conditions like fibroid, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, etc, both medically and surgically. She is interested in gynaecological cancer screening procedures like screening for cancer cervix, uterus cancer .
