Dr. Daisy Rani Rao is a consultant physician at the Vibrant Life Medical & Wellness Clinic andthe Seventh-day Adventist Medical Centre and in Bangalore. She has completed her MBBS in the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore and has done her postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology at Kasturba Medical College. She has over 20 years’ experience as an ophthalmologist and has experience in general practice and obstetrics as well since she worked in several mission hospitals in various parts of the country. Her husband,Dr. Narendra Rao, and she established a new mission hospital in northeast India in the state of Mizoram. In 2013 she was awarded the Paul Harrison Award by the Christian Medical College, Vellore for her outstanding contribution in the field of healthcare in rural areas. Inspired by the need and seeing an increasing number of people suffering and dying from largely preventable illness, Dr. Daisy Rani joined her husband in the exciting new field of Lifestyle Medicine. Lifestyle Medicine involves the use of non-drug therapies such as diet, exercise, and stress management to prevent, treat, and often reverse disease. She holds a Diploma in Public Health Nutrition from the Public Health Foundation of India (New Delhi), a Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine for Weight Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Certificate in Health Education from Pacific Health Education Center in California. Her main role at the Clinic is to provide Dietary Counselling for lifestyle-related problems as well as conducting Weight Loss programs. She along with other team members conduct health expos and health screening events in various communities and business corporations in the Bangalore area. She finds great satisfaction in seeing people’s quality of life improve as a result.
