Dr C S Prasanna

Dr. C S Prasanna is an experienced consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with specialist expertise in the Assessment and Management of Neuro-Developmental disorders like Autism, ADHD and Tourette's syndrome. He has 16 years of experience (10 years as Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) of working in NHS, United Kingdom. After completing MBBS from JJM Medical college in 1997, he went to England and completed postgraduate training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2007. He worked as a consultant in multidisciplinary CAMHS unit Leicester and faculty member at Leicester University. He provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for children under 18 years presenting with Mental Health/Behavioral Difficulties. The treatment modalities usually include various Psychological Therapies, Behavioral Management and Family Work. Medication is sometimes required depending on the severity of the condition. Dr.C S Prasanna passionate about teaching and training. He held Training Programme Director post and enjoyed strategic planning and delivery of training to higher specialty trainees in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Despite being very busy with clinical and other duties, he has involved in research activities. He also enjoyed the additional role as Team Leader which was held for 5 years. The role involved leading and managing a multi-disciplinary CAMHS(Child and Adolescent Mental health Service) team. During his tenure waiting time was markedly reduced from over 6 months to 6 weeks due to increase in efficiency. The exemplary performance was appreciated by the Trust Chief Executive formally.
