Dr Om J Lakhani

Dr. Om J Lakhani is an Endocrinologist and he has completed his DNB Endocrinology training from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He is currently working as Consultant Endocrinologist at Zydus Hospital in Ahmedabad. He has completed MBBS & MD in Internal Medicine from the prestigious Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He has an outstanding academic record with four gold medals in MBBS and two gold medals in MD Medicine examination. Dr. Lakhani was the winner of the celebrated Endocrine Society of India – Torrent Young Scholar Award (ESI-TYSA) in 2016. This is a competition amongst all the DNB/DM Endocrinology residents in India and Dr. Lakhani stood first amongst all the residents in Endocrinology nationwide. He was also a runner-up in the ESI-AV Gandhi award for research in Endocrinology. His M.D. thesis got best ‘All India Annual thesis award-2012.’ from Associations of Physicians of India. Dr. Om J Lakhani has been involved in the teaching of Postgraduate and Undergraduate medical students as Assistant Professor of Medicine and as a tutor in Endocrinology with University of South Wales, UK. He is also involved in research and academics and he has completed the thesis on “Management of Glucocorticoid-induced hyperglycemia”. He also manages a popular Endocrinology blog called Endocrine cases. He is the founder of Patient Education portal 'Endocrinology India'.
